Named for the Ligurian harbour that stood for a certain unhurried Italian glamour, the Portofino is IWC's most consciously elegant collection. At 42mm this chronograph has real presence while keeping the line's restraint: a slim bezel, gently curved lugs, slender applied indexes and leaf hands, with registers arranged so the watch still reads as dress rather than sport. Day and date sit at three, beneath a glareproofed domed sapphire crystal.
