In 2016, Frédérique Constant and its sister brand Alpina were acquired by Citizen Watch Co., bringing Japanese manufacturing scale together with a Geneva-based mechanical workshop that had, by then, been developing its own movements for close to three decades. The acquisition preserved the brand's Swiss production and its Geneva address, while giving it the resources of a much larger corporate parent. Frédérique Constant continues to design, engineer and largely assemble its watches in-house, maintaining the manufacture status it built independently before the Citizen Group era began.
