Frédérique Constant's watchmaking sits in Plan-les-Ouates, part of the cluster of manufactures on the outskirts of Geneva that also houses several of the canton's more established maisons. From there, the company designs its own movements, decorates components to Geneva finishing standards, and assembles complete watches rather than outsourcing final assembly. The approach reflects the founders' original goal: to prove that meaningful Swiss mechanical engineering did not require either inherited nineteenth-century pedigree or four-figure-plus pricing, and that a genuinely new manufacture could still be built from scratch in the late twentieth century.
