Hand-wound, 44mm, and stripped of everything that is not strictly necessary, this is the Luminor as an instrument rather than an ornament. The brushed steel cushion case carries the patented lever-locked crown guard developed for Italian Navy frogmen, and the sandwich dial — two plates with luminous compound trapped between — gives the numerals a physical depth no printed dial can imitate. Winding it each morning is part of the proposition.
