The Polaris descends from the 1968 Memovox Polaris, a diver's watch with a mechanical alarm loud enough to hear underwater — one of the strangest and best ideas in Jaeger-LeCoultre's archive. At 42mm in steel the modern collection keeps the trapezoidal indexes, the twin-crown architecture and the internal rotating bezel, but wears as a versatile sports watch rather than a specialist tool. The manufacture calibre is made in the Vallée de Joux.
