Oris Big Crown Pointer Date

A pointer date is a quieter solution than a window: instead of cutting a hole in the dial, a slender fourth hand sweeps a peripheral scale, leaving the design uninterrupted and adding a second rhythm to the display. Oris has built the complication since 1938, alongside the oversized coin-edged crown that pilots could operate wearing gloves. This 40mm steel reference pairs both beneath a domed sapphire crystal.
