H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer

H. Moser & Cie. is one of the few independents that makes its own hairsprings, which in watchmaking is roughly the equivalent of a winery growing its own vines. The Pioneer is its everyday piece: a cushion case with articulated lugs, and a fumé dial that shades from bright centre to near-black edge — lacquered by hand, so no two are identical. Frequently supplied without a logo, because Moser considers the dial argument enough.
