This is one of the most quietly admired watches Grand Seiko makes. The textured dial evokes fresh snow across the Shinshu landscape that surrounds the studio where it is built, and the 40.2mm steel case is Zaratsu-polished by hand to distortion-free mirror surfaces. What sets it apart is inside: Spring Drive, a movement powered by a mainspring like any mechanical watch but regulated by a quartz oscillator, so the seconds hand glides in perfect continuous motion rather than ticking. Accuracy is quoted at one second per day.
