Montblanc's watch division operates two distinct production tiers: higher-volume pieces built at its Le Locle facility, and small-series chronographs hand-finished at the historic Minerva workshop in Villeret. The Villeret site is one of a shrinking number of Swiss workshops still using column-wheel chronograph architecture finished largely by hand rather than by automated machinery. Montblanc has leaned into this heritage since acquiring Minerva in 2006, positioning its watch business as an extension of the same commitment to craftsmanship the company built its reputation on in writing instruments and leather goods.
