At 34mm the Big Crown becomes genuinely compact, and the oversized coin-edged crown — designed in 1938 so pilots could operate it wearing flight gloves — gives the small case far more character than its diameter suggests. A domed sapphire crystal softens the dial edge the way period acrylic once did, and applied numerals keep the instrument-grade legibility. Independent and family-controlled from Hölstein since 1904.
