Panerai Luminor

The Luminor case is one of the few genuinely original designs of twentieth-century watchmaking. The brushed steel cushion measures 44mm, its crown sealed by the patented lever-operated bridge that let Italian Navy divers secure the crown using a lever-operated mechanism, in the dark, wearing gloves. The sandwich dial — two plates with luminous compound trapped between them — gives the numerals a depth no printed dial imitates.
