The Type XX was built to a French military specification in the 1950s, and the defining requirement was the flyback: a pilot needed to reset and restart the chronograph with a single press, without stopping first, because navigating by dead reckoning left no time for three separate actions. In 18-carat rose gold at 42mm the watch is considerably more precious than its origins, but the mechanism is unchanged. Breguet has been building watches since 1775.
