Oris Big Crown Pointer Date

The pointer date is a small mechanical pleasure that has almost disappeared from watchmaking. Instead of a window cut into the dial, a slender fourth hand sweeps a peripheral scale to indicate the date, leaving the dial uninterrupted and adding a second layer of movement to the display. Oris has built this complication since 1938, and this 40mm steel reference pairs it with the oversized coin-edged crown that names the collection.
