The Big Pilot descends from the B-Uhr observation watches IWC supplied to navigators in the 1940s — 55mm instruments worn over a flight jacket, with a conical crown operable in heavy gloves. This 43mm steel reference translates that language for the wrist without diluting it: oversized numerals, a triangle at twelve, and a soft-iron inner cage protecting the movement from magnetic fields. An IWC-manufactured calibre with a long power reserve drives it.
