At 46.2mm the Big Pilot is unapologetic, and it should be: the B-Uhr observation watches IWC supplied to navigators in the 1940s measured 55mm and were worn over a flight jacket. The conical crown is sized to be operated in heavy gloves, the numerals are oversized because a navigator read them at a glance, and a soft-iron inner cage shields the movement from the magnetic fields of a cockpit.
